Resolve problem of tsunami-affected fishermen: PMK leader
Puducherry, Aug 28 (UNI) PMK parliamentrary party leader Prof M Ramadass today urged the territorial administration to take immediate steps to resolve the problem of the tsunami-affected fishermen in the Union Territory.
In a statement here, he said the government was yet to acquire land for the construction of houses for the displaced fishermen in five villages, including Solainagar.
Urging the administration to initiate action on a war-footing in this regard, he said more than 10,000 houses could be constructed from the funds released by the Centre.
Stating that the Central funds should not be diverted to any other purpose, the PMK leader said the government must ensure that all the affected fishermen were provided houses.
