Rail in Agartala not before March: RB executive director
Agartala, Aug 28 (UNI) The Northeast Frontier Railway officials today ruled out the possibility of expansion of railway network here by this December 2008.
Addressing a meeting attended by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and other top officials, Railway Board (RB) executive director P K Singh said there were some logistic difficulties for which the work could not be completed before March.
However, he said the laying of railway tracks and construction of bridges were on and on the verge of completion.
Disruption of railway link between Lumding and Badarpur was the main cause of the delay as the materials could not reach on time while the tunnel works in Longtaria, Autharomura and Baramura ranges were halted due to inclement weather, he said.
