Punjab to recruit 4000 educational service providers

Chandigarh, Aug 28 (UNI) The Punjab Education Department has promoted 527 ETT, Classical and Vernacular (C&V) teachers and non-teaching staff to master cadre in the state and initiated recruitment process of 4000 educational service providers for government schools.

Disclosing this here today Education Minister Upinderjit Kaur said that the School Education Department has fully geared up for providing better educational services in the state and the promotional channels for teaching and non-teaching faculty had been set into motion.

She added that 312 ETT teachers, 118 C&V teachers and 97 non-teaching staff have been promoted to master cadre and the promotion lists has been dispatched to all the District Education Officers (DEOs). It has also been decided that next departmental promotion committee (DPC) meeting for promotion of masters/mistresses to headmasters/headmistresses would held on September 26.

The Minister said that committees have also been constituted at district level to allot the vacant stations as per seniority of the teachers. Preference would be given to handicapped, widows/widowers and wives of working defence personnel.

C&V teachers and non-teaching promotees would be allotted sitting schools/sitting stations and others would be given stations according to their seniority. The existing vacant stations would be displayed in concerned DEOs offices.

Dr Kaur further added that 4000 educational service providers are being recruited in the Secondary School Education Department on a consolidated pay of Rs 5400 per month.

Giving details she added that 1000 English Master/Mistress, 300 Social Science Master/Mistress, 625 Punjabi Master/Mistress, 650 Hindi Master/Mistress, 325 Maths Master/Mistress, 650 Science Master/Mistress and 450 DPE Master/Mistress are being recruited in this process. The male/female ratio would be 50:50 in this recruitment.
