Punjab CM releases book on Golden Temple

Chandigarh, Aug 28 (UNI) Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today released a pictorial book titled 'A Spiritual Sanctuary of Humanity, Sri Harimandar Sahib' authored and compiled by Mr Roop Singh and Rupinder Khullar.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Badal said ''Indeed it was a unique initiative on the part of the authors who had put in lot of hard work in bringing this prestigious publication on Sri Harimandar Sahib, a spiritual sanctuary for the entire humanity.'' He highly appreciated the creative work of Mr Roop Singh and photographer Rupinder Khullar for the compilation of this master piece in the form of pictorial album with holy sermons from 'Gurbani.' On the occasion, the first copy of the book was presented to the Chief Minister by Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Singh Makkar. Mr Badal thanked the SGPC chief and said that he will always treasure this holy publication.

Mr Roop Singh had served for more than ten years as an editor of the monthly magazine 'Gurmat Parkash' of the SGPC. A post graduate in Punjabi and religious studies, Mr Roop Singh is well versed with Sikh history and literature on Sikhism. He has seven books and several research papers to his credit.

Currently he is serving as personal secretary to the SGPC chief and is also the additional secretary of the SGPC.
