Police personnel suspended for dereliction of duty

Bhagalpur, Aug 28 (UNI) Two policemen, posted at Nathnagar police station, were suspended for dereliction of duty in Bhagalpur district today.

Police Superintendent J.S.Gangwar said here that inspector Lal Bahadur Singh and a policeman Ramchandra Rai had been suspended with immediate effect for allegedly beating up a thief. He said a team had been constituted and departmental action would be initiated after getting the report.

Mr Gangwar said during preliminary interrogation the police personnel refused to admit the incident. He said the footage of a private TV channel had been sought for inquiry into this connection.
