Mah: PM to review state's agro-devpt index

Mumbai, Aug 28: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will review the State's agriculture development index during his visit to the Maharashtra on August 31.

An official release here said the vice chancellors of four agricultural universities in Maharashtra would be present during the meeting.

It may be recalled that the National Development Council had already decided to increase country's agro index by four per cent and Rs 25,000 crore had been earmarked for the purpose.

Dr Singh had so far visited Karnataka and Andhra pradesh to review the agro development in those states.
