Nuke deal debate in LS will clear Left parties concern: Vasan
Karur, Aug 28 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Programme Implementation and Statistics G K Vasan has said the debate on the Indo-US nuclear deal in the Lok Sabha, would clear the minds of Left parties and common people.
Justifying the Cong-led UPA Government's stand on the civilian nuclear pact, Mr Vasan, addressing a press conference here yesterday, said the nuke deal would be helpful for the country's security and growth.
Unfortunately, the Left and the BJP were opposed to the pact due to some 'political misunderstandings,' he said.
The minister said the Union Government would implement 66 schemes through eight departments in Tamil Nadu at a cost of Rs 35,000 crore.
