Modi announces Rs 2 lakh to blast victim's family

Gandhinagar, Aug 28 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today announced a compensation of Rs two lakh to the family of Vallabh Patel (43) who was killed in the bomb blasts in Hyderabad last Saturday.

Mr Modi also announced that the government will bear the medical expenses of 12-year-old Yash, Vallabh Patel's son, who was injured in the blast.

Mr Modi has sent State Urban Development Chief Secretary S R Rao to Hyderabad to render assistance to other blast victims.

Vallabh Patel, along with his wife Meena and two sons -- Yash (12) and Meet (8), had gone to Hyderabad and they were in the open-air auditorium at Lumbini Park to witness the laser show when the blast occurred. Seriously injured Mr Patel was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Mr Patel was a businessman dealing in super foam at Dhebar Road in Rajkot.
