Gohana incident: Haryana Roadways bus damaged by mob in Punjab
Ludhiana, Aug 28 (UNI) An agitated mob protesting the Gohana incident damaged a Haryana Roadways bus near Dholewal Chowk in the city this evening, police today said.
The mob armed with 'lathis' (sticks) and rods took control of the bus of the Ambala depot when it made a brief halt at the Chowk to off load a few passengers. After asking the driver and conductor and the remaining passengers to get off, the mob broke the window panes of the bus which was on its way to Jalandhar from Delhi.
However timely arrival of the policemen prevented the mob from setting fire to the vehicle. The cops seized a can full of petrol.
A number of protestors fled when the police arrived leaving behind their vehicles which were impounded by the cops. A case has been registered in this connection but no arrests have been made as yet.
