Fake currency racket: Accused held in Kerala brought to AP

Hyderabad, Aug 28 (UNI) The city police have arrested two more accused in Kerala in connection with the Rs 2.6 crore counterfeit Indian currency racket busted on August 25, and brought them to the city.

Police said after arresting four people in connection with the racket, special police teams went to Kerala and arrested Abdulla and Hamja. Counterfeit currency worth Rs 45,000 was also seized from the duo.

Meanwhile, a person hailing from Assam, Mohd Abdulla, was taken into custody in the city as he was moving around in a suspicious manner. Police suspect his involvement in the fake currency racket and were interrogating him.

The city police had busted the racket on August 25 with the arrest of four persons, including an UAE national Alkaz Khamis Obaid Khamis. Barely an hour after the arrest of the four accused, terrorists had triggered two blasts in the city, claiming 45 lives.
