CII Karnataka focuses on making Belgaum a manufacturing Hub

Bangalore, Aug 28 (UNI) As part of its focus to make growth and industrial development more inclusive across Karnataka, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), has set-up the Belgaum Zone to activate industrial activity in North Karnataka.

Belgaum District was an important manufacturing and educational centre in North Karnataka. Given its good connectivity by rail, road and air with the major industrial centres of Bangalore, Mumbai and Pune, it had the potential to become a major centre of activity for the automotive and aerospace industry, CII, Karnataka Chairman N Reguraj said in a release here today.

As one of the fastest growing cities in the northwest part of Karnataka, Belgaum district borders two states, Maharashtra and Goa and the city of Belgaum is accessible via air from Mumbai and Bangalore. Its strategical location, connectivity, salubrious climate, huge natural resources, vast pool of human talent, cheap and skilled labour, educational facilities, recreation facilities lead the district towards a phenomenal growth in social, economical, industrial and trade sectors.

CII said Belgaum was most potential in view of the available resources and available infrastructural facilities. Government of Karnataka have perceived new Industrial Promotional policy through which many incentives and concessions are offered to the prospective entrepreneurs. The district has provided well developed industrial areas and estates both in government sector as well as co-operative sector.
