Buta for CBI probe if Haryana Police ''fails to act''

Sonepat, Aug 28 (UNI) Expressing his displeasure over the alleged laxity of the Haryana Police, National Commission for Scheduled Castes chairman Buta Singh today said a CBI probe would be ordered in the murder of the Dalit leader Rakesh Lara if the state police failed in bringing the guilty to the book.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Buta Singh said the Haryana Police failed to provide security to Lara even as it had nabbed notorious criminal known as 'Sarkari' who was allegedly paid a 'supari' to kill the Dalit leader.

He said a CBI probe would be ordered in the Lara murder case, if the state police failed in bringing the culprits to the book.

Mr Buta Singh also instructed the District Magistrate to constitute a special commmittee of Scheduled Csates to restore confidence among the SC community in Gohana.

He earlier visited the residence of Rakesh Lara who was killed by armed assailants last night and consoled his family members.
