Blind Girls make the "Raksha Bandhan" special for the BSF people

Jammu, Aug 28 (UNI) On the festival of Raksha Bandhan , a group of six blind girls from Mumbai today visited International Border at Miran Sahib and tied Rakhi to soldiers of Border Security Forces (BSF) and Army this morning.

A group of six girls tied the thread of protection on jawans posted at the border far away from their homes, an official spokesman said.

Several girls from local government school on the Indo-Pak border near Jammu tied Rakhi to jawans and wished long life for them at border areas.

BSF Constable TK Das, who is posted here away from his family (in West Bengal) said he was overwhelmed to see that small local girls came here and tied rakhi on his wrist.

''We felt at home when girls from the local government school walked up to us with rachis,'' another BSF jawan Pradeep said adding we have received Rakhis which were sent by school girls across the country.

''We are tying rakhis to soldiers so that they don't miss their family. We consider them our brothers, they sacrifice their lives for us,'' said a girl student.
