1 Farmer dead several affected on spray of harmful pesticide
Bhilwara, Aug 28 (UNI) One youth died and at least another 125 farmers were affected after a particular pesticide was sprayed in Sankliya village in this district of Rajasthan.
According to official sources, Raichand Bairwa, a young farmer of the village in Arnia Ghod Panchayat of Shahpura, died while the pesticide was being sprayed on the field.
Many other farmers in the area had been affected by pesticide 'Endosulfas' and were being treated in government hospitals and private clinics.
Dr Rajendra Chandak, treating these patients in Gulabpura, said the pesticide is permeating into the skin due to excessive heat generated during spraying, leading to headache, fever, vomiting and diarrohea.
