Youth killed in road mishap; mob torches jeep

Sitapur, Aug 27 (UNI) An irate mob set on fire a jeep that killed a motorcycle-borne youth at Lucknow-Delhi National Highway of Mahauli area here today.

Police said the mishap took place near Udraula village, where a youth was run over by a speeding jeep.

Irked over the incident, villagers torched the jeep. The mob could only be controlled after police swung into action.

A case had been registered and jeep driver was taken in police custody.
