Two ministers gheraoed by Blind graduates
Mysore, Aug 27 (UNI) Unemployed blind graduates and students of ''Deaf and Dumb'' School today gheroed two Karnataka Ministers demanding implementation of High Court direction two years ago to provide reservation in government jobs to them.
As soon as the Minister for Women and Child Welfare H K Kumaraswamy and District Incharge Minister G T Deve Gowda arrived to participate in the inauguration of a New Block of School for the Deaf and Dumb here, the students stopped the minister demanding one per cent reservation.
''The state government, instead of honouring the High Court direction, was planning to go on appeal in Supreme Court in this regard'', they alleged.
Mr Kumaraswamy assured the agitators that he would discuss the matter with concerned officials and received a memorandum from them.
However, when Mr Kumaraswamy failed to mention about the issue during his speech, the agitators raised slogans urging the Minister to ensure that Reservation was implemented immediately. The Minister again assured them that their demand would be studied.
