Bangalore, Aug 27 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council H K Patil today claimed that the President has agreed to refer the issue of a rampant tax evasion by Telecom companies which use Radio Frequency and Artificially Created Light Energy (ACLE) in Optic fibre cable network to Supreme Court for its opinion.

Talking to newsmen here he said that he had approached President Prathibha Patil last week in this regard and urged her to refer the matter to the Apex Court.

''It is an absolutely scientific truth that OFC broaband lines necessarily work on ACLE and this energy carries information or data from the point of presence to another point of presence of the network,'' he said.

He said the high profile Telecom companies were indulging in tax evasion leading to a heavy loss of the revenues to the extent of Rs 1.20 lakh crore annually.
