Renowned sculptor Kanniappan passes away

Chennai, Aug 27 (UNI) Renowned sculptor and former professor and Principal of Government Arts College S Kanniappan died here today after a brief illness.

He was 75.

His sculptures were installed at various locations throughout the country and they were among the collections of various art connoisseurs, including museums, institutions, corporates and individuals.

Kanniappan was one of the founder members of Cholamandalam, a unique artists' village on the outskirts of Chennai.
