Motorcyclist run over by a truck in Assam

Jorhat, Aug 27: A motorcyclist was run over by a speeding truck in Jorhat district of Assam early this morning.

The accident took place near the Bhogdoi bridge, on National Highway 37, when a truck hit a motorcycle.

The rider, identified as Prasanta Sharma(25), was seriously injured and later succumbed in the hospital.

Two other accidents on August 23 and 24 near Jorhat town had led to the death of two school girls. It had led to a major public uproar against reckless driving in the area.
