Monica Bedi pays obeisance at Golden Temple

Amritsar, Aug 27 (UNI) Bollywood starlet Monica Bedi today paid obeisance at the Golden Temple and sought strength and guidance from the 'Guru' for a bright future and career.

The former companion of underworld don Abu Salim, who was released on the orders of the Supreme Court last month, paid obeisance at the Harmandir Sahib, the sanctum sanctorum.

Later she performed 'sewa' at the shrine, which included cleaning utensils at the 'langar' (community kitchen) and sweeping the marbel floor of the shrine.

Later talking to mediapersons Ms Bedi said she had come to seek the 'Guru's' blessings for her future. ''I have done no wrong,'' she said when asked whether she had come to seek forgiveness for her past 'sins'.

''I feel a lot better,'' Ms Bedi quipped as she emerged out of the shrine. '' I am looking forward to a bright career in films and the almighty will guide me in this venture,'' she added.

This was for the first time that Ms Bedi, after her release from a Hyderabad jail, had ventured out of her ancestrol village Chabbewal in Hoshiarpur district.
