Fortis to invest Rs 1,000 crore, operate 40 hospitals by FY2010
New Delhi, Aug 27 (UNI) Fortis Healthcare Ltd today said it plans to invest about Rs 1,000 crore to increase its number of hospitals from the present 12 to 40 by the end of fiscal 2010-11.
''We will have 40 hospitals by the end of financial 2010 in 14 states in the country ,'' said Fortis Healthcare Ltd President (Strategy and Organisation Development) Daljit Singh.
These hospitals will have some 6,000-7,000 beds.
The investment for the project will be equally funded through debt and equity instruments.
Some of these hospitals will be totally owned by the company while others will be through joint venture and management ownership, Mr Singh added.
