Patna, Aug 27 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today faced an unusual situation when District Magistrate of Saharsa refused to recognise his voice over phone and replied in a casual manner on his query about the relief operation in a particular area of the district.

Some villagers of Saharsa district, annoyed with the tardy relief operation in their area, met Mr Kumar here and complained about the apathetic attitude of the district administration towards the sufferings of the flood victms.

Taking notice of their grievances, Mr Kumar directed his private secretary to inquire from DM Niranjan Chaudhary into the matter. But Mr Chaudhary refused to answer the query on phone despite repeated requests by the private secretary.

Later, Mr Kumar himself talked to Mr Chaudhary on phone but even then, the latter refused to recognise his voice.

A visibly irritated Mr Kumar asserted and said --it was CM speaking on phone-- and rebuked Mr Chaudhary that his behaviour was enough for putting him under suspension.

Thereafter, Mr Kumar talked to State Chief Secretary and asked him to look into the matter.
