CPM activists hold 'bhooporatam' in Naidu's constituency
Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, Aug 27 (UNI) CPI (M) activists today occupied nearly 24 acre of government land at two places in this constituency of TDP Supremo N Chandrababu Naidu in Chittoor District today.
As many as 300 activists, led by CPM rpt CPM District Secretary K Murali occupied nine acre of land located beside the Kuppam Engineering College, hoisted party flags and erected temporary huts.
On information, police rushed to the spot and removed the huts and flags. All the activits, except Mr Murali, were also arrested.
In the other incident at Model Colony, at least 500 activists led by Bhooporattam Committee Member rpt Bhooporattam Committee Member Srihari occupied nearly 15 acre of land.
They left after an assurance from authorities on distribution of house sites to the eligible poor.
