Bomb hoax to AP Secretariat, 5 other places in Hyderabad
Hyderabad, Aug 27 (UNI) Barely two days after the twin blasts rocked the city, claiming more than 40 lives, the Andhra Pradesh Secretariat and five other places in the city today received a bomb threat, which, however, turned out to be a hoax.
Talking to newspersons here, State Home Minister K Jana Reddy said the police control room received an anonymous call that bombs have been planted at the Secretariat, Paradise Hotel, Retifile bus station at Secunderabad, Chilkalaguda, Global hospitals and Imblibun bus station.
The Chief Minister was chairing a meeting with his Cabinet colleagues on the implementation of GO 610 when the threat was received. All the employees of the Secretariat were evacuated from their office premises and thorough checks were made.
Bomb detection and disposal squad and sniffer dogs were immediately pressed into service. However, no explosive materials were found at any place.
Mr Reddy said the police had recorded the phone numbers and launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants.
