Jamshedpur, Aug 27 (UNI) Jharkhand BJP president P N Singh today demanded to book Chief Minister Madhu Koda for violating model code of conduct during his visit here on August 25.

Talking to newsmen here, Mr Singh said the Chief Minister was received by the East Singhbhum district Superintendent of Police at the Sonari airport here despite the visit of Mr Koda was not official.

Mr Koda came here for campaigning for UPA candidate Suman Mahto for the Augsut 29 Jamshedpur Lok Sabha bypoll.

Mr Singh said the presence of government servants during the visit of the Chief Minister's personal tour was the violation of rules laid by the Election Commission and action should be initiated against Mr Koda for the violation of model code of conduct.

Significantly, the BJP had already lodged a complaint against Mr Koda to the EC for violating the model code of conduct during filing of nomination paper by Ms Mahto on August 9 here.

The EC had also issued a showcause notice to the CM in that case.

Mr Singh also alleged that the UPA government was using the government mechinary for election purpose and the party would write to the EC for both cases.

Claiming that party candidate Dinesh Sarangi would win by a big margin, Mr Singh said a straight fight would be against the JMM.

He also alleged that the Babulal Marandi's Jharkhand Vikas Morcha was working for the JMM by dividing the votes of the BJP.
