Pregnant wife poisoned to death by in-laws

Phagwara, Aug 26 (UNI) A young pregnant woman was allegedly poisoned to death by her-in-laws in the Hargobind Nagar colony here last night, police today said.

Phagwara DSP Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh while confirming the dowry death said that Tejinder Kaur (26) daughter of a transporter of Amritsar, Baldev Singh was married to Jasmit Singh about two years back.

In his complaint to the police, Baldev Singh alleged that his deceased daughters in-laws had been harassing her and demanding more dowry including cash. He claimed that when he reached here yesterday he found his daughter in hospital and he immediately informed the police.

After an inquiry the police registered a case under section 304B IPC and took Jasmit Singh, the husband of Tejinder and her father-in-law and mother-in-law into custody.
