Hisar, Aug 25 (UNI) The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has decided to launch a Voluntary Disclosure Scheme (VDS), giving another chance to the farmers to get regularised the unauthorised shifting of tubewell connections, without paying any penalty.

This decision was taken in a meeting presided by the Chairman, Haryana Power Transmission and Distribution Corporations, Lt General (retd) Onkar S Lohchab here today.

Gen Lohchab said that due to depletion of underground water or due to other reasons farmers shift their tubewells to other places where water is available adequately. Such shifting is illegal in case it is with out permission of DHBVN.

However, keeping in view the compulsion of farmers, DHBVN has decided to give an opportunity to get the tubewell connections regularised by disclosing the details voluntarily in the concerned sub divisional office of DHBVN. The farmers shall have to pay only the shifting charges and no penalty would be imposed. The scheme will remain operative up to October 31.

Mr Lohchab said that DHBVN would now give connections to tubewells on high tension (HT) distribution system only. Each tubewell would get an independent transformer so that the farmers could get qualitative power supply at proper voltage with minimum interruptions.

It is now mandatory to install ISI marked motors, pump sets and shunt capacitors on tubewells, without which connection would not be released, he added.
