Late Bansi Lal arhcitect of modern Haryana: Ms Choudhry

Bhiwani, Aug 26 (UNI) Former Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal s birth anniversary would be celebrated not only in Haryana but throughout the country, his daughter-in-law Kiran Choudhry said today.

The developmental works initiated by him would always be remembered by the people of the state, Minister of state for Tourism and Forests Ms Kiran Choudhry said while addressing a huge gathering in Golagarh village in the district at a function organised to commemorate his birth anniversary.

She said that today Haryana was famous not only in the country but all around the world due to the farsightedness of Mr Bansi Lal under whose guidance the state progressed by leaps and bounds. She said the major infrastructural developments such as power, roads and water, even in the far-flung areas of Haryana were the contribution of her late father-in-law.

Ms Choudhry said Mr Bansi Lal would always be remembered as an able administrator and visionary, who was devoted to the welfare of masses.

She said that the Haryana Government had decided that the Civil Hospital here and the road from the railway station to Sarai Chaupta would be named after Mr Bansi Lal. Besides this, a memorial park in Bhiwani and a girls' college in Tosham would be set up in his memory.

She said that Golagarh, the native village of the late Chief Minister had been declared a model village and development works would be started soon. She said that a large rally would be organised on the birth anniversary of her late husband former Haryana Agriculture Minister Surender Singh in November and his bronze statue would be unveiled at a memorial park here on this occasion.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and several Union Ministers would attend this rally.
