Hyderabad blast: Death toll touches 42

Hyderabad, Aug 26: Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will visit the city today to take stock of the situation arising out of the twin bomb blasts last night, the death toll in which has risen to 42.

Mr Patil will be accompanied by Special Secretary M L Kumawat to assess the situation and provide all possible assistance to the state government.

At least nine people were killed in a pair of bombings at Lumbini amusement park and 33 at Gokul chat centre, police said.

As many as 60 people were injured and the condition of some is still critical.

Four engineering students from Maharashtra and two Railway police constables from Madhya Pradesh were among the dead in the Lumbini park blast, police added.
