'ISI involvement in Hyderabad blasts'

Hyderabad, Aug 25: Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Jana Reddy, who visited both the bomb blast sites and hospitals where the injured were being treated tonight, suspected involvement of the ISI in the explosions.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Reddy said the death toll was 42 as 32 were reportedly killed at Gokul Chaat alone in the Kothi area of the city and the toll at Lumbini Park was nine, he added.

The Minister said over 50 were injured in the blasts.

Denying Intelligence failure, he said the toll would have been much higher had it been the case.

In a land occupied by over 8.5 crore people, it was difficult to to maintain alertness all over, he added.

Mr Reddy said the State Government would bear the expenditure for the treatment of the injured.

State Cabinet and an all-party meeting is scheduled to take tomorrow.
