Presence of media persons deprive Chidambaram of coffee
Lucknow, Aug 25 (UNI) Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram had to leave his cup of coffee at Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee(UPCC) headquarters to avoid speaking with reporters here this morning.
Mr Chidambaram said he was on a personal visit and would not like to speak with the media, the UPCC spokesman later told UNI.
He said the finance minister insists that his visit to Lucknow is in the capacity of a writer and has nothing to do with any official assignment.
The Union Minister was at the state party headquarters to meet state office bearers and the party workers but his visit was shortened owing to 'unwanted' entry of the media persons. He could not relish the coffee and had to leave the party office in a huff.
The finance minister is in the state capital in connection with the release of his recent book 'A view from outside-why good economics work for everyone'. He is scheduled to have interactive session with the readers at a book store in a leading Mall of the city.
