Naxals set bus on fire on eve of CPI (Maoist)-sponsored bandh

Chatra, Aug 25 (UNI) About 100 armed Naxals waylaid a bus and set it ablaze after dragging out all passengers at Muhrenuma Bhuiyadi under Vasisthnagar Jori police station in this district of Jharkhand tonight.

Police were yet to confirm the naxal group behind the inicident.

However, unconfirmed report suggested that banned Tritiya Prastuti Committee might be involved in it as their rival group CPI (Maoist)-sponsored Jharkhand bandh would begin from mid night tonight.

The Chatra-bound bus was coming from Gaya (Bihar) and the incident took place at 1930 hrs about ten km from the town.

The CPI (Maoist) has given the state-wide bandh cell in protest against arrest of one of their cadres recently in Jamshedpur.

The banned outfit alleged that there was no clue as to where their arrested cadre had been kept by the police.
