MP Cabinet expansion: allocation of portfolios tomorrow

Bhopal, Aug 25 (UNI) Having expanded the Cabinet, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would allocate portfolios to the ministers tomorrow.

Official sources said a cabinet meeting took place after the expansion of Council of Ministers wherein newly-inducted ministers also took part.

Later, Mr Chouhan held discussions with the ministers at his residence during which they were asked to perform and targets were set for them.

Sources said some ministers were handling several departments.

Their burden would be reduced and some departments would be allocated to newly-inducted ministers.

Earlier, Mr Chouhan inducted six new ministers, including three of cabinet rank, taking the strength of his Council of Ministers to 32. Besides, two Minister of State were elevated to the cabinet rank.

Apart from Chief Minister, the Council of Ministers include 23 cabinet ministers and eight Ministers of State.
