JeM likely behind Hyderabad serial blast: Intelligence
Hyderabad, Aug 26 (UNI) The serial blast which rocked Hyderabad city tonight, killing at least 37 persons and injuring 70 others, appears to be the handiwork of the Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad, intelligence sources both at the Centre and State analysing the explosive materials said.
Though the initial indication of the explosion at the Lumbini park, a few metres away from the high security Secretariat, indicated use of gelatine, forensic experts who searched the materials did not rule out the use of RDX material, normally used by terrorist outfits.
Even at the popular eatery blast, where it was initially considered as gas cylinder explosion, forensic team had found materials indicating that the explosive material like RDX had triggered the gas cylinder blast and not the other way.
Commissioner of Police Balwinder Singh who visited the blast site indicated to the media at the Gokul Chat that '' it is an act of terrorists''.
The Intelligence sleuths, who accompanied Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and Home Minister K Jana Reddy to the blast site, indicated that the material could be similar to the one used in the Mecca Masjid explosion of May 18 this year.
Central intelligence had altered the state police that 4-1/2 Kg of RDX material was smuggled into Hyderbad via Bangaladesh before the May 18 at Mecca Masjid where 1.8 KG was possibly used.
The remaining portion of the explosives was hiden which had been used in the blasts today.
Meanwhile, police said two unexploded bombs had been seized from Naryaanaguda and another four from Venkatadri theatre at Dilskhuknagar.
