Bullet riddled body of top ULFA rebel found

Guwahati, Aug 25 (UNI) Police today recovered the bullet riddled body of a top ULFA rebel from Upper Assam's Jorhat district.

Titabor sub divisional police officer Debashis Bora said the bullet riddled body of ULFA's 'lance corporal' Bipul Bora alias Lohit Sonowal was found from the Matikhula area along the borders of Jorhat and Golaghat districts.

Police suspects that the rebel might have been killed in a shootout amongst the cadres of the outfit as local people heard sounds of firing in the morning from the area.

The body of Bipul bore two bullet injuries.

Some incriminating documents were also recovered from the slain rebel.
