4 members of family burnt alive in MP

Raisen(MP), Aug 25: Four members of a family were charred to death when fire broke out in their house at Bareli town in this district early today, police said.

Though the cause of the blaze was not immediately known, smell of kerosene on the spot indicated that the house might have been set ablaze, Sub-Divisional Officer (Police) V S Chouhan said.

Mr Chouhan said Laxman Singh Vishwakarma along with his family was asleep when the fire broke out around 0400 hrs. Laxman, his wife Asha and 8-year-old Sulabh died on the spot, while 12-year-old Anshul died on his way to hospital.

Forensic teams from Bhopal and Hoshangabad had been summoned to inspect the spot, he added.
