UPA has edge over NDA,other parties in Jamshedpur bypoll:Sahay

Jamshedpur, Aug 24 (UNI) Union Minister and senior Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay today claimed that UPA candidate for Jamshedpur Loksabha bypoll Suman Mahto would win with comfortable margin as her nearest rival BJP was a divided house.

Mr Sahay, who was here to campaign for Ms Mahto, told reporters that the internal squabble in the BJP would be an advantage for the UPA candidate, while Babulal Marandi-led Jharkhand Vikash Morcha (Democratic) had no credibility.

Mr Sahay said winning of this prestigious Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat would be a befitting tribute to slain JMM MP Sunil Mahto.

He said the late leader had left a good impression as a MP in his brief stint and hoped his widow would complete the unfinished job of her husband if she won the byelection.

When pointed out about the Opposition charges of corruption against the Madhu Koda government in the state, Mr Sahay said Mr Koda, going to complete his one year as a CM, would be asked to furnish the detail reports in the UPA meeting.

He termed the announcement of Mr Koda to step down in favour of JMM supremo Shibu Soren, who was acquitted of murder charges, as 'good gesture'.

Mr Sahay, however, skipped the questions of changing the Chief Minister or dismissal of the Madhu Koda government.
