Uma present in state capital on the eve of cabinet expansion

Bhopal, Aug 24 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) President and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti arrived in the state capital this afternoon and would halt here tonight, BJS sources said.

Ms Bharti's presence in the state capital on the eve of cabinet expansion in Madhya Pradesh has become a hot topic in political circles here. Her supporter Dr Gaurishankar Shejwar is likely to be inducted in the cabinet.

The BJP had romped to power in Madhya Pradesh during assembly elections in the state in 2003 under Ms Bharti's leadership. She became the Chief Minister but resigned in the wake of a Hubli court issuing a warrant against her. She was replaced by Mr Babulal Gaur.

After being acquitted, Ms Bharti demanded her reinstatement but Mr Gaur was replaced by Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan following which the Sadhvi resigned from the BJP and formed her own party.
