Mumbai, Aug 24 (UNI) Journalist and MCOCA accused Ketan Tirodkar today filed a petition in the court praying that he be allowed to withdraw his private complaint against encounter specialist Daya Nayak.

In a hand written application, submitted before MCOCA judge M R Puranik today, Tirodkar said since the last three-and-half years, he has run from pillar to post for justice. But, instead of getting justice, two FIRs have been filed against him, Tirodkar said in his petition.

He said that tainted police officers are moving free while he, the complainant, is languishing in jail. Now, he has lost faith in the judiciary and the prosecution and wanted to withdraw his own complaint, Tirodkar said in his application.

The judge admitted the application and slated Monday for passing an order on it.

It may recalled that Tirodkar had filed a private complaint in the year 2004 against Daya Nayak alleging that Nayak had nexus with the underworld.

Tirodkar had, on his own, examined eight witnesses in the case and, thereafter, MCOCA judge Ashok Bhangale had directed the police commissioner to investigate the matter and submit a report.

The investigations were subsequently handed over to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW). The EOW sleuths had called Tirodkar for questioning and had subsequently arrested him.

The Bombay High Court had recently rejected Nayak's plea seeking quashing of the case on the ground that a prima facie case had been made out against Nayak.
