Special team to submit report on Culture University colleges
Bhubaneswar, Aug 24 (UNI) The Orissa government today directed the Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University of Culture to constitute a special team to study various aspects of the colleges affiliated to it and submit a report to the government.
Minister for Culture Suryanaryan Patra today said the decision to constitute the team was taken after the authorities received a number of complaints about the colleges.
Mr Patra said till today 23 colleges were affiliated to the university. Though there was a specific government guidelines on infrastructure, faculty strength, faculty salary and students fee structures, many of the colleges were functioning without observing the government guidelines.
He said action would be taken against the colleges after the government received the report.
The Minister said the government withdrew its recognition to two colleges - Dhauli College of Arts and Craft, Bhubaneswar and Indian Institute of Hotel Management and Catering - as they had failed to construct their own buildings within the stipulated seven years time.
