Bhubaneswar, Aug 24 (UNI) Rajasthan police today served non- bailable arrest warrant (NBW) against Orissa Director General of Police (Home Guard) B B Mohanti to the Cuttack Collector who handed it over to the Superintendent of Police to execute it.

Cuttack Superintendent of Police Somendra Priyadarshi, however, could not serve it to the DGP as he was neither available in his office nor the residence.

When contacted, State Home Secretary Tarun Kanti Mishra said he had no idea about Mr Mohanti's whereabouts, but said the DGP would be arrested if he did not surrender before the police.

The police Inspector from Rajasthan also served another arrest warrant against DGP's son Bitti Mohanti, convicted and sentenced to seven years for raping a German woman, for not reporting to Jaipur jail where he was lodged even after his parole period expired on December 4 last.

The NBW against DGP B B Mohanti and the arrest warrant against his son Bitti, were issued by Jaipur Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) II Rajendra Bansal on August 21 after rejecting Mr Mohanti's petition for cancellation of the non-bailable arrest warrant released against him.

The Court dismissed Mohanti's petition on the grounds of his non-cooperation with the city police in the investigation of his son Bitti Mohanti's case.

The DGP has been accused of aiding his son to jump parole. The Rajasthan police had attempted thrice to arrest the DGP but in vain as they could not trace the DGP during their visit to Cuttack.
