PGIMS, Rohtak to be upgraded as Medical University
Chandigarh, Aug 24 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said PGIMS, Rohtak would be upgraded as a Medical University.
This was announced by the Chief Minister while presiding over the meeting of PGIMS at Rohtak.
Mr Hooda said a budget of Rs 109 crore had been earmarked for the PGIMS during the current financial year. A sum of Rs 43 crore had been increased in the budget during the last two years as it was only Rs 66 crore during the year 2005-06.
He said the Haryana goverment was making persistent efforts to provide better health care facilities to the people at their doorsteps and a sum of Rs 228 per capita expenditure was being incurred on providing better health care facilities.
The Chief Minister directed Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary ( Health) S P Sharma that the financial power be delegated to the Director, PGIMR, Rohtak to meet the day to day expenses and for running the institution in a smooth manner.
