Bhilwara, Aug 24 (UNI) Animal rights group People For Animal (PFA) has welcomed the upholding of actor Salman Khan's five-year sentence in the Chinkara poaching case by a Jodhpur court, saying it would serve as a deterrant for wildlife poachers.
PFA state incharge Babulal Jajoo said here today that the court's historic decision of upholding the lower court verdict of five years imprisonment and Rs 25,000 penalty will send a stern message that those poaching wildlife animals cannot escape punishment irrespective of their celebrity status.
