OMR to be known as Rajiv Gandhi Road

Chennai, Aug 24 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government today renamed the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), popularly known as city's IT corridor, as Rajiv Gandhi Road.

An official release here said this followed an announcement by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi that OMR would be renamed after Mr Rajiv Gandhi following a request by TNCC President M Krishnasamy during thelate Prime Minister's birth anniversary celebrations on August 20.
