Nikkei slips as Fanuc, banks shares lose ground
TOKYO, Aug 24 (Reuters) The Nikkei average fell 0.2 percent on Friday from a one-week closing high hit in the previous session with recent gainers such as Fanuc Ltd and financial shares under pressure following a lacklustre finish on Wall Street, where shares slipped on a shaky economic outlook.
The Nikkei was down 30.31 points at 16,286.01 as of 0001 GMT, while the broader TOPIX index fell 0.3 percent to 1,587.54.
