Raipur, Aug 24 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party's student wing will hold a three-day national training programme here from September 21 to work out strategies to change the course of student politics to promote modern education and develop human resource.

NCP chief and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and other senior party leaders are scheduled to address the programme to be attended by students from 25 states, NCP student wing national president K J Josemon told newsmen here.

''Public perception about student politics is that it is for politicising campus, create trouble and destroy public property during agitations'', he said, adding this was the course of student politics during the last five decades.

Pointing out that education was not getting much priority, he said the main focus was on development of infrastructure like buildings. He said NCP student wing was of the view that new courses that are in-sync with the present day requirement have to be introduced for development of human resource.

In Chhattisgarh and other mineral rich states, Mr Josemon said, the universities could introduce courses on mining beneficial to students from these states. ''Similarly, our view is that universities have to change their role by visualising the future requirements'', he said.

He said the three day training programme would also discuss and adopt resolutions on education policy and related issues besides discussing the problems being faced by the students across the country.
