Court rejects Salman's plea; upholds 5-year term

Jodhpur, Aug 24 (UNI) A local court today rejected Bollywood actor Salman Khan's appeal against a five-year imprisonment handed down to him by the trial court in the chinkara poaching case.

Upholding Chief Judicial Magistrate B K Jain's judgement, dated April 10, 2006 in the case against the actor, District and Sessions Judge Kamalraj Singhvi turned down Khan's appeal and issued a non-bailable warrant against him.

Salman was supposed to be present in the court but he failed to turn up.
