Centre to ask AP govt to send report on rape of tribals: Patil

New Delhi, Aug 24 (UNI) Home Minister Shivraj Patil today assured the Lok Sabha that he would get details over the reported rape of 11 tribal women by security forces in Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Patil said he would examine the report after it was received from the Andhra Pradesh government and ask the state to take ''appropriate measures.'' The Home Minister made the assurance during zero hour at the instance of Mr Yerran Naidu (TDP), who was, however, not allowed by Speaker Somnath Chatterjee to raise the issue as it had already figured in the House yesterday.

Mr Chatterjee, however, allowed Mr Patil to respond, with the advice that he should not come forward to make a statement on issues which he had refused to be raised.
