Centre should intervene to stop agitation in TN: Kurup
New Delhi, Aug 24 (UNI) Mr Suresh Kurup (CPI-M) today sought Home Minister Shivraj Patil's intervention to persuade the Tamil Nadu government to stop the ''rail roko'' agitation over the creation of the Salem Division of the Railways.
The agitation, involving blocking trains, either proceeding to or originating from Kerala, would affect the ongoing 'Onam' festival, Mr Kurup said, raising the issue in the Lok Sabha during zero hour.
''The Home Minister should talk to the Tamil Nadu government,'' he pleaded.
