Vasudevan honoured for contribution to film industry
Kochi, Aug 23 (UNI) Doyen of Malayalam Cinema T E Vasudevan was today honoured by Kerala Culture Minister M A Baby in recognition of his contribution to the film industry.
Addressing a gathering, Mr Baby said the contribution of Mr Vasudevan was unparalleled and a source of inspiration for the current generation of film-makers.
The Minister said eventhough Mr Vasudevan was a producer- distributor, his contributions in other fields of film-making like editing, directing and music were also commendable.
''Mr Vasudevan made films when film-making was a challenge and tasted success through hard work and determination,'' Mr Baby said.
Mr Vasudevan, 90, in his long and illustrious career spanning 68 years, had distributed more than 1,000 Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu amd Hindi films and produced more than 50 feature films under the banner of Associated Productions, Jai Maruthi Productions and Jai Jaya Combine.
